Today has been pretty pleasant. Woke up after something like 7-8 hours of sleep, got ready and then still had over an hour before I had to catch the bus. So I watched the Christmas special of Dr. Who. I think I watched the first season in about a week. Now I'm on the 10th Doctor, David Tennant. I really liked the 9th, but #10 seems like he'll be at least as fantastic. I'm having a lot of fun, and I'm pretty excited because the second season is a lot easier to find.

Work has been kind of pleasantly non-eventful. I've only been yelled at once, but since the lady was yelling at me while I was giving her what she wanted, she stopped after a bit and it wasn't really that big of a deal.

I desperately need more HD space for all this shit I've been downloading. First paycheck, I'm gonna buy a portable HD.

This pissed me off really bad. A civil rights and peace advocate speaking out about the Israeli government fucking over the Palestinians is hardly anti-Semitic. He's also a big critic of the government of Zimbabwe - by the logic they seem to be using, are we to assume that Desmond Tutu is racist towards black Africans?

Stole this from dragonpaws. Since I'm killing time at a library (=working), I thought it appropriate. Plus it'll give me ideas for stuff to read once I get my fines from forever ago taken care of.

These are the top 200 books most often marked as "unread" by LibraryThing's users. Bold what you have read, italicise what you started but couldn't finish, and strike through what you couldn't stand. The numbers after each one are the number of LT users who used the tag of that book.

I'm also going to steal the idea of underlining things that I still want to read.

Lotsa books.Collapse )

De amicitia

"My mother used to say that there are no strangers, only friends you haven't met yet. She's now in a maximum security twilight home in Australia." - Dame Edna

With that bit of sage wisdom in mind, I'm making this friends-only.

You know the drill, comment to be added. I'm pretty okay with new friends, I just like knowing who's reading.
